[ALBERT LEA, MN] — St. John’s Lutheran Community today announced the sale of Knutson Place, its independent/assisted living senior living located at 901 Luther Place in Albert Lea, to a private investment firm, effective June 11, 2026. Perennia Senior Living will serve as the management company for the community.
Knutson Place will continue operating as a senior living community under new ownership and management.
This strategic decision reflects St. John’s Lutheran Community’s commitment to focusing its full resources and operational energy on its Fountain Lake location, where it delivers a comprehensive continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing and rehabilitation.

St. John’s Lutheran Community has served older adults and families in the region for over six decades, building a reputation for compassionate, high-quality care across all levels of need. The organization’s new campus is home to a full continuum of services, including specialized memory care and skilled nursing — care types that Knutson Place does not provide. St. John’s will continue to serve as a regional resource and collaborative partner for seniors whose needs evolve over time, including former Knutson Place residents.
Perennia Senior Living brings experienced senior living leadership to the stewardship of Knutson Place. St. John’s looks forward to a collegial working relationship with Perennia as both organizations serve the senior living needs of the region.
